Dust II Onyx: A Melanated Tarot, 2nd Edition is a deck created by multimedia artist Courtney Alexander. The cards feature 78 mixed media collage paintings accented with metallic and holographic foils, featuring cultural myths, symbolism, history, and icons within the Black Diaspora. The guidebook features multiple keyword lists (numerological, elemental and astrological) and full color images of the artwork with titles and art descriptions. Each card has been carefully researched, with nearly 75 resources cited, providing a wealth of educational material.
Because this product depends on your pre-orders, the faster we work together to raise funds for production the sooner the 2nd Edition decks will be released and made available. I've decided to forego the Kickstarter platform so I have the flexiblity necessary to manage this campaign through the various stages and outcomes. Below I've highlighted some of the funding stages to keep things in realistic perspective.
100% funded at $50,000
Being a healer and educator, while working to uplift others, is often a thankless job (especially for those who live in the margins). I'm always inspired by the people I see around me who give their time, and often the little resources they have, to do incredible work for others who are disenfranchised or in need of support. Your donation today will help sponsor decks for non-men of color (meaning femme and nonbinary people of color), who are evolving spiritually and doing the work to bring healing to their community. The higher the donation amount is in the end, the more people I'm able to donate a deck too.
Are you or someone you know on your ancestral healing journey but can't afford the deck? Is there a person in your community who you admire and believe this deck would be a great help to? Are you or someone you know an activist or community worker who could use this deck as a tool in their work? Tell us who they are, what they do, and how Dust II Onyx can help them in their journey. Applicants simply must:
